When I was under the car doing the exhaust I noticed the rear offside shock absorber body was badly rusted, so looks like a pair of shocks for the rear are going to be added to my list. Looking online they seem to be listed the same as the 4x4 but I want to be sure. The picture shows the label on one of the shocks.
Has anyone changed theirs and if so any recommendations? Was going to go for Spax as I have used them a few times before with good results but they don’t do a replacement, the could do me a custom set but suspect they would be 💰💰💰💰

I changed mine a year and half ago just went to the local motor factors but I was looking at them last nite and the hole casing on the outside is all rusted you would swear they were ten years old

Check shop4parts.co.uk (this Forum's favourite Fiat parts specialist)... There are a few variants for the 4x4 shocks (depending on engine and trim), but likely the Trekking is the same as the rest of the rear suspension is identical -- they just left out the rear drive :)

As mentioned in other posts, the regular washing with a hose (not a pressure washer) around the suspension, brakes and subframes etc is time well spent (arguably better than washing the painted bits :) My shocks look new, 55000 miles and 6 years old. Keeps that salt-laden mud from eating its way through the non-galvanised parts (on any car...)
