I'm glad you're still enjoying this Gar ....:D

Here's some more on a very different subject .

In my descent into madness and depression whilst in Tuscany Sept / Oct 2019 I took exercise by walking on the city wall of Lucca .It featured on a Top Gear special when the Clarkson trio did a 3 car super mini test starting from the city .I wonder if they got all the permissions to A....drive into the city centre , and
B.....on the wall , both of which are subject to restrictions .

Every day it is frequented by cyclists and pedestrians , some I regularly saw jogging or just walking like me .

To break up the tedium , I took to spotting and taking pics of Pandas , not difficult in Italy .

Here's a selection.

A duo , a trio , 4 and my personal best 5 and a Vespa that has had the same sticker treatment as my car .

A busy 4 days had me at Imola Saturday , Varano circuit and the Dallara place mentioned earlier on the Sunday and back to Imola on the Tuesday .

This old Carabinieri car turned up for the Alfa day , don't know if the officer was genuine , didn't fancy asking , the gun may have been real . He took the car out in the track sessions , with the blues and twos going ,it was hilarious .

Pandamonium!

(And that GTV6 is lovely - I never got to own one, although I looked at several back in the day. Can't afford a good one anymore!)

The day after the Gran Premio Nuvolari started in Mantua and drove up the edge of Lake Garda , they went south east a little , to Passo Futa near Barberino di Mugello.

Is that a Bentley Speed Six in the first pic of the last set? One of my all-time favourite cars, after reading a book about one as a kid.

Some pics not seen before .

First pic is of the first car I drove to Italy in 2006 , a well used 23 year old Escort RS1600i .
The location is a rest area off the Autostrada leading to the Mont Blanc tunnel in the Aosta valley .
This is a pic of the poster I had made from the original photo , I wasn't using a digital camera then and wasn't on the internet yet either .This also was the oldest car I drove to Italy , beat the Fiat by just a few months.

The second pic is 10 years later in the same location , the last time I returned to Calais via the expensive French toll route , I went home via Austria all the times after this .

The 3rd pic I took from my Reader's cars thread on the other car forum I used to frequent for far too long .It's of Fabio the FIAT in a previous owner's hands .
He found the mentioned thread and posted a pic of it , doesn't have the 4 pipe exhaust that I had but does have alloy wheels that were not on the car when I bought it .:(

This video popped up in my recommended to watch stuff .

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mgsb46fUJQ

The pic I posted couple of weeks ago from the car park with the other British reg B at the 2018 event is the connection .

Video starts with The amazing entry of cars gathering in Castell Arquato on Friday and Saturday and then run up the hill to Vernasca, it's only a short trip but just look at the entry .:D:D

They only accept the creme de la creme .

I implore someone here to go to next year's event .Editted to add , as it's a street event ,it's completely free of charge .
It won't be me going .:(

more that I forgot just now .

A user on the other forum back in June July 2018 posted asking if there was anything worth going to on this weekend as he was going to be staying in Rapallo and wanted something not too far away .

I hadn't been to the Vernasca Silver Flag before but recommended it to him ,I had to look up where Rapallo was first to make sure it wasn't too far away .

It was the hottest weekend ever , but I think he posted up afterwards that he enjoyed it just as much as I had done .

Some of the filming on the course on the 2021 video was on the exact same corner I stood at on the Saturday afternoon , opposite the concrete works with the blue cones outside the gate .
