Remember though, Taiwan is a small place - so I think that can skew the results. If I was to use the home connection, it's only 3 meg down / 5 meg up, even though its supposed to be an 80meg connection...

Not only that it's a small densely populated place with much more modern infrastructure (bearing in mind telephony took on in the UK very early on in it's development).

Our new sharedband connection at work. We originally had 1 pipe which would run at 6mb down & 0.3mb up. Now we have two pipes which are effectively joined here as one gateway, split over two BT lines and re-joined in a data center down in Bristol with a massive fat pipe. Its also smart enough to prioritise large downloads or uploads to one pipe etc so other people arnt greatly effected. Also allows you to re-boot a router without taking the whole internet down which helps.
The cool thing is you can also do this with (IIRC) up to 4 Infinity pipes! 320mb download anyone??! Would cost a bomb though
Edit: just re-looked at their website, you can actually go up to 6 lines!!! 480mb down 120mb up. That would be insane...

so the full 120 from V.media cant be fully rostered...but tbh 90mb aint bad
But why soo slow upload.... wonder if brother web chatting via camera's is cause
