As it's the last day of 2016 I think it's time for a quick reflection on how it was for you. No exact format required although I'm breaking mine down in to sections so it's not one huge rambling load of text. In general though 2016 was better than 2015
Car: The punto keeps going and is now on 82k at 7 years old which is not a lot considering it's a derv. It's been cheaper to run this year probably because so much structural stuff got done in 2015. The paintwork's beginning to look pretty shoddy in places though and the difference in shade of the front bumper has me quite convinced it had a shunt at some point prior to my ownership - and I'm the only owner Still, if I get another few years out of it I'll be happy. P.S let's not mention the other car....
Work: Unemployment was looming at the start of 2016 however thankfully I managed to secure a new position and my first ever permanent one as well. It's not my dream job but it's interesting and challenging and more importantly I didn't need to take a pay cut. It can be incredibly stressful though and I know more about the politics of my work than I'd like. 2017 is going to be very difficult
Finance: I'm starting 2017 with no unsecured debt, an emergency fund and over payments to the mortgage. Probably the most financially secure I've been since buying the house
Health: Oh dear, this is the bad one. The aim for 2016 was to eat less crap, drink less alcohol and do the physio exercises for my knackered ankle. I did none of those probably due to the stress of the new job which means I'm starting 2017 heavier than I've ever been and I suspect my blood pressure is none too healthy. Luckily I work in a place with a human nutrition unit so I'm putting plans in place to monitor my weight and blood pressure and perhaps even nabbing a food diary for my own use too. let's see how long that lasts
So overall not bad but could do better. How was 2016 for you?
