Technical Heater Stuck On?

My heater is stuck on due to my mechanic installing my dashboard incorrectly and not connecting the controls on the dashboard.

basically the dash doesnt control the heater and its constantly on. is there any way i can permanently turn off or disconnect the heater because i was driving the x1/9 today and it was killing me in this heat.

This may be different on a federal car, but in the RHS footwell, there are two pipes coming up into the cabin, in the centre of the car. One of these will have a large brass valve on it, that assuming it hasnt rusted open, could possibly be closed with a pair of pliers on the little hook that the wire should have attached to,

Did you pay the mechanic for this? if so get him to do it properly!!!!!!!!

You can just turn the heater valve off by hand in the RHS foot well, just switch it to the opposite position to the one it is currently in and you should be right.

great! works like a charm. thanks for everything. actually it was a friend of mine who helped me out installing the new dash board and reconnecting the cables so i dont wanna bust chops about a mistake he made
