My wife’s Fiat 500L has recently encountered an issue where the handbrake when pulled up engaged but it doesn’t seem to ratchet properly and sometimes just slips straight back down.
The button on the handbrake works when the handbrake does ratchet in place but the ratcheting is so quiet it just doesn’t seem right.
Funnily it seems to have coincided with her spilling an iced strawberry lemonade on the handbrake so not sure if something has slipped out or what.
Haven’t got the money to take it to a mechanic at the moment and happy to lend a hand to anything so willing to give it a go myself.
Any advice would be appreciated!
